Summer Storm

Summer Storm
The sound…
The boom…
The heavenly bound…
Outside my room.

From Sky to Earth,
The clouds give birth
To something new —
Something true

The flash…
The wind…
The crash…
The whirling trend.

From sky to sky,
Tree to tree,
From low to high,
It envelops me.

I stop to wonder,
I stop to gaze,
I stop to ponder,
Intrigued by nature’s ways.

So terrifying at first —
And gloomy all the way through.
Yet, replenishing our thirst
For something new.

Of life given to us.
Of spirit from above.
Of war and hate that separates us.
Of the search for true love.

The sheets of metal…
The flickering light…
Makes me want to settle
And comfort you tonight.

It fades, it calms —
Begins to secede,
And when I touch your palms,
I know that you are what I need.

My true love…
In every form.
From beginning to end —
You are my summer storm.
